Felony Stop in Irvington

A man in a stolen Home Depot van was observed taking some items from the rear of the Hope Thrift Store  on Blacow just before 3 this afternoon.  LoJack Security was observing the subject after electronically tracing the vehicle to the thrift store.  The white van was a rental from Home Depot and had their logo displayed on the sides.  LoJack Security followed the van to Fremont Blvd where officers made a felony stop on Stanley, just off Fremont in the Irvington District.  The driver, the only occupant, was taken into custody.

Idiot BMW Owner

A woman has her $60k + BMW X5 stolen in Union City the other day.  An FPD LPR machine sees it go by south on Ardenwood then stops at the 76 station.  An officer locates it and starts a code 5.  Detectives head that way hoping to catch the thief as he/she  drives away.  But wait.  A detective calls the owner on the phone.  Oh, she found her car but didn't notify any police agency.  That is her by the 76.  Idiot.  She could have had a rifle pointed her way.  You would think someone who owns an expensive car would have some common sense.  Not this BMW owner.

Fentanyl hits Fremont

Around 930 last night a man overdosed on fentanyl inside a residence in Fremont. A family member called 911. Police officers would not enter the residence because the drug is highly toxic. A family member came outside of the house and was given Narcan and told how to administer it. The subject that overdosed came to and walked out of the residence . Fire department personnel were there for two hours cleaning up this highly toxic chemical.

Peet's Patrol

A man called from Peet's on Paseo near Mowry saying he was worried that the police were following him.  Three nearby motor officers responded as patrol officers were busy.  Turns out the man had a $5,000 warrant for possibly violating his sexual registrant requirement.  Nothing more intimidating, I would think for a worried man, than three motor officers dressed in high boots, gloves and helmets showing up.  Not sure if he was booked or given a written notice to appear. 

Sunday Shopping at Pac Commons

She stopped in at T.J. Maxx for a little shopping.  Then it was over to P.F. Chang ( or was it Panda Express?) for lunch before stopping in at a nearby bakery.  Sounded like a normal Sunday afternoon at Pacific Commons, except this woman in her 40s did not pay.  A concerned citizen followed her from the bakery (where I guess they were hip to her and she didn't get any of the goodies) as she walked towards Auto Mall.  Fremont's finest will find her and her next free meal may be at Santa Rita.

Disturbance at Saddle Rack

Around 10:20 last night five drunk people were reported to be in a disturbance outside of the Saddle Rack night club.  Numerous officers responded.  A  traffic stop was made on one vehicle whose occupants were involved in incident.  Another group was hanging out on a corner.  After sorting things out, a code 4 was broadcast.  Apparently no one was seriously hurt.
