Does Murder Victim's Life Matter?

Nearly two months ago a man was shot and killed in the parking lot of Luckys on Mowry shortly before the sun went down.  There were several witnesses to the shooting plus video from several sources.  To this day, the Fremont Police Department HAS NOT HAD THE DECENCY TO RELEASE THE NAME OF THE MURDER VICTIM NOR PROVIDE ANY FOLLOW UP INFORMATION ON THE INVESTIGATION.  Does this life matter to FPD?  The appearance is that they wish to keep this under the radar.  The reality is a failure in leadership to keep the community informed of public safety events.  Any other Bay Area police agency would have released the name and provided at least one follow up news release on the progress of the investigation within days.  There is no excuse for this lack of transparency.

  1. Because this man was Hispanic, Brown people never get the same amount of media coverage or support as other groups of color. AllLivesMatter.

  2. In all fairness to FPD, they are consistent in keeping info to themselves, regardless of the victim's race. A year ago May, a white man was beat up in Niles. It took MONTHS before they released the victim's name and commented on the case. Ridiculous.
