Afternoon Wrap Up - Baseball Bat Assault; Brandishing of Handgun (Updated)

A man was struck in the head with a baseball bat this afternoon near the 7-Eleven at Sundale and Fremont.  A citizen found him down on the ground and bleeding from the head on Liberty and Beacon.  He told officers  that a woman attempted to rob him but he had no money.  She then struck him in the head with the bat.  He was taken to a trauma center with a skull fracture.  A woman was taken into custody a few minutes later at Liberty and State.  Both victim and suspect appear to be transients.

Shortly after that a person called from near Walmart on Albrea saying a man in a truck brandished a handgun at them.  Officers located the truck behind a store on Albrae and Stevenson.  A man was detained and a gun was located in the truck.
