A man showed up at a local hospital with bullet wounds around 12:20 this afternoon.  The shooting occurred in an industrial area off Blacow between Thornton and Central.  At least two shots were fired, according to witnesses.  Officers are busy reviewing video from homes and businesses in the area.  The victim was reported to be in critical condition and is being transferred to a trauma center.  At least one shell casing has been located in a parking lot.
Updated at 3:15- this does not appear to be random...the victim and suspect seems to know each other.

Here is the FPD news release:

  1. At 'level 1':
What does dispatch announcing this mean?

  2. These are levels of service restrictions. I believe level 1 is the most restrictive and officers will only respond to calls where life is endanger. On a shooting investigation a number of officers are tied up leaving only a few to handle calls in the city, thus the restrictions.
