FREMONT OFFICER IN LATE NIGHT STRUGGLE ON 680

On a lonely stretch of 680 on a dark night,  a Fremont Police officer encountered two apparently intoxicated males, struggling with one after he walked onto the middle of 680 southbound lanes, finally able to subdue the subject after tasing him, according to radio traffic.  Unit 2-O-2, apparently returning to Fremont after a drop off at Santa Rita County Jail, encountered a non injury traffic accident on 680 just north of Andrade around 9:40 last night.   An officer from Fremont and a CHP officer were dispatched to assist.  Eight minutes later a cryptic radio message was transmitted that indicated she urgently needed help.  Fremont Police responded a number of units to assist, lights and sirens on.  It took  eight minutes for officers to reach her at which point she had deployed the taser on one subject and had him under control.  An ambulance was sent to treat the subject with taser hit.  Unknown if any officers were injured.

  1. Thank you Scanner for the details. I came in mid incident & I wasn’t sure exactly what was happening. I know one officer needed assistance and could not be reached my radio. Wow, eight minutes is a long time.
