Suspected Prostitute Flees Motel 6

I know it is hard to believe...immoral activity at the Motel 6 North here in Fremont.  Management suspected 647b activity at the motel as there were a number of "guests" coming and going through the night.  When the registered party, a female, was asked to leave, a verbal disturbance ensued.  A male in her room joined in, yelling aggressively at the manager.  The name of the registered woman to the room has warrants for prostitution out of Virginia and Texas, but, per radio traffic, were not extraditable.  As it turns out, the woman made a wise decision and vacated the room prior to FPD arrival.

Penal Code 647b is California's law on prostitution and solicitation. This section makes it a misdemeanor for anyone 18 or older to:
  • Pay or accept money or other consideration in exchange for a sexual act (“prostitution”),1
  • Offer to engage in an act of prostitution ("solicitation"),2 or
  • Agree to engage in an act of prostitution.3
