New Pursuit Policy in Effect?
Twice today patrol sergeants have called off or not authorized pursuits of suspect vehicles. FPD was reviewing their pursuit policy after the serious accident at Mowry and Farwell last month that resulted in serious injuries to an innocent party. Perhaps pursuits of property crime suspects are no longer authorized. If so, this new policy should enhance public safety as high speed pursuits are dangerous to the community.

All though I understand the reason behind it, the downside is as soon as the suspects learn this, there could be an uptick of crime.
