Started in Hayward around 2:20 this afternoon and is presently in U.C. More to follow. The vehicle pulled into a neighborhood west of Mission near Tamarack. The vehicle stopped and the male passenger fled on foot. The female driver is in custody. Numerous officers, K-9 units and a CHP helicopter are working the area of Mission and Blanche Street, which is on the U.C.-Hayward border. Sounds like the pursuit was initiated by FPD detectives in Hayward.
Update at 2:50- the helo had to leave due to approaching fog, but a detective is en route with a drone.
Update at 3:03- a toy gun was apparently located in the back pack of the female in custody.
Update at 3:23- male suspect has been located and is in custody.
Dang it, I missed it. I fell asleep in the chair & just looked at my phone and saw this. Glad they caught them. Lots of listeners on the feed.

ReplyDeleteWow, another pursuit happening now & just terminated because the suspect was going the wrong way on the city streets. The last couple of pursuits I have listened to (one recently on Walnut driving towards me, which is scary) the suspects drive the wrong way (against traffic) because they know PD will terminate the pursuit.
