Two Structure Fires in Centerville in 13 Hours

FFD is on scene to the second of two fires in the downtown Centerville District at this time.  Numerous people called 9-1-1 to report heavy black smoke coming from behind a building on Peralta near Fremont Blvd.  To the rear of a building a car was engulfed in flames and smoke which spread to an abandoned building.  From radio traffic it appears both the vehicle and building were abandoned.  At 12:25 this morning, some 13 hours earlier, FFD responded to an abandoned building fire on Fremont Blvd near Peralta.  Here is a tweet from the FD:

On Tuesday, 4/28 at 12:25 AM, #FremontFirefighters responded to a fire in a vacant commercial building at 37438 Fremont Blvd. The one alarm fire was contained to the building of origin and extinguished within 20 min. No injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.⁣
