POLICE TESLA IN 120 MPH CHASE; RUNS LOW ON JUICE !!

We all joked that this would happen someday- the Fremont Police Department's Tesla patrol vehicle would be involved in a high speed chase and run out of juice before the pursuit ended.  Well it happened last night! This all began at around 11:05 last night when unit 3O8, driving the police Tesla patrol vehicle, spotted a felony vehicle in the parking lot of the Auto Zone in the Irvington District.  The vehicle had been involved in a previous pursuit and had a "seizure order" on file.  Several back up units responded to the area as the red light was activated on the Toyota Avalon.  The vehicle fled down Washington Blvd. before turning south on 680, reaching 100 mph by Auto Mall Parkway.  As the pursuit approached Jacklin Road in San Jose, the chasing vehicles had reached a speed of 120 mph while driving in light freeway traffic.  It was here that unit 3O8 broadcast "I'm down to 6 miles of battery in my Tesla.  I may lose it".  Another chase vehicle was close behind and took over the number one spot.  Shortly thereafter the Avalon began driving on the right hand shoulder of the freeway as traffic began to thicken up.  At this point the sergeant called off the pursuit.  However, before returning to Fremont the Tesla needed some juice: "3O8, I need to find a charging station for the Tesla in order to get back to the city".
