ROBBERY AT THE HUB; SUSPECTS ARRESTED

The Provident Credit Union at The Hub was robbed at 5:30 this evening.  The two suspects displayed no weapons and left in a stolen gray 96 Honda sedan.  An alert officer observed a similar vehicle with paper plates and two males matching the description in the rear of the vehicle on Mowry Avenue.  The officer followed the vehicle onto northbound 880.  At some point a pursuit was initiated with speeds up to 60-70 MPH for a short period of time near Alavardo-Niles Blvd.  The suspect vehicle also pulled over to the shoulder of 880, reversed course and rammed an FPD patrol car before turning around and heading north.  Shortly thereafter it apparently crashed.  At least two people fled on foot and were scooped up in short order.  Two ambulances were ordered, but I don't know if they were for the suspects or for someone possibly injured in the crash.

I would like to add that the dispatcher did an EXCELLENT job in getting the information out!
"BEEEEEEP  211 at the old Taco Bell at The Hub, now Provident Credit Union, 39080 Fremont Blvd".  Within seconds all the important info is out.  They can sort out who is primary for the call later...get units rolling there now.

Fremont PD almost had me scooped on this...two quick tweets.  They are getting the hang of pushing out important crime info in a timely manner!
