RV on Fire in the Canyon; Mission Will Be A Mess

An RV has caught fire on Niles Canyon Road  east of Palmores Road.  The RV was fully engulfed and touched off a small grass fire near the RR tracks, but has since been contained.  The roadway may be shut down due to emergency vehicles.  There was some talk of a life flight helicopter for someone that may have been trapped in the RV.  More on this if I hear more.  CHP confirms that Niles Canyon Road is being shut down east of Palomares Road which will lead to a huge mess on Mission Blvd and some neighborhoods as commuters try to work around the closure.  Fremont PD will probably close Niles Canyon at Old Canyon.
Update.  Five fire engines on scene..apparently there is still some fire happening.  Also, FPD is shutting down Niles Canyon AT Mission which makes sense since most people want to go all the way through.  Again, Mission will be a mess.
Update:  This is (or was) a 25 foot motor home.  There is a victim  that will be transported via ground ambulance.  A motor officer reports that southbound Mission is backed up to Stevenson as those destined for the canyon are now heading to 680.
Fremont Police slow on the Nixle message (surprise, uh?).  They were advised by CHP at 2:21 to shut down Niles Canyon.  At 3:52 they managed to squeak out a Nixle message.
Update:  at 4:24 Niles Canyon opened up to eastbound traffic.
