What A Crazy Night!

The afternoon started out with an RV fire in the canyon that ended up closing down Niles Canyon Road and forcing commuters onto Mission and Morrison Canyon.  Traffic was backed up for hours.  Unfortunately a man had some minor injuries and his dog perished.  Later in the evening an arsonist (or two) torched off an old Toyota pick up truck on Hastings.  Numerous callers reported to FPD that the car was rolling down Hastings and "exploding".  Officers obtained good video from nearby cameras showing two people circling the truck on foot before it exploded in flames.  They then ran south towards Country.

Then some serious crime hit. Apparently four teens were stabbed in the vicinity of Valpey Park and Fiesta, near Millard Elementary, in the Irvington District. There were two teen suspects and officers have their names. At least 3 of the 4 were transported to hospitals. Officers followed the ambulances to the hospitals while others conducted interviews in the neighborhood, tying up patrol officers for many hours.

If this wasn't enough, a 4.5 quake struck about a half hour later that gave Fremont a pretty good shake. There were no reports of damages or injuries in this quake which was centered north of Walnut Creek. A nearly full moon may have contributed to the quake, and perhaps the other crazy activity last night.
