Fremont Police officers stopped a vehicle that had been carjacked and arrested the two occupants around 4:40 this afternoon. An officer observed the vehicle on Thornton and followed it north on 880. After activating the lights, the vehicle yielded to the center divider against the sound wall. The occupants held their hands up out the windows. Traffic north of 880 was halted until the suspects were safely taken into custody. It is unknown if this is the vehicle jacked last night on Thornton.
Update: the vehicle stopped was a blue 2013 Toyota Corolla, so it sounds like a match with last night's vehicle. It did not make it very far...
Dumb criminals award. It worked out for the registered owner that the car was still in the area.
