Fun Fremont Fact

The Spot.  A bar and campground in Niles Canyon about 3.5 miles in from Mission Blvd.  I know where it used to be, but I wasn't around Fremont when it was there.  Some say the bar was a biker bar.  But all agree there also were campgrounds along Alameda Creek there.  There is not much on the internet.  I was not able to find out when it was built, but apparently it closed in the 90s.  Here is what  I found:

The Spot The Spot was a bar and campground on the banks of Alameda Creek separated from Niles Canyon Road by a line of Eucalyptus trees. The land was owned by the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, who has owned the water rights along Alameda Creek for over 100 years. In 1994, The Spot was closed as the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission did not extend the lease on the property. The Spot was located at 3 miles into the canyon.
