FPD's Silence
Ten days is a long time to hold facts from the public, even by Fremont PD's standards. Will we ever know what happened to Thad on the eve of May 19th outside of Devout Coffee in Niles? Certainly by now the detectives have made an arrest or are about to. Thad was known to hang out at the Florence. He lived nearby. Someone must have known what went down. If the person who brutally assaulted him is not known, perhaps the general public should be aware. Peds hit by a car crossing a street get plenty of attention from the PIO. But someone who dies after being beat up in a public place is not worthy? Chief Petersen....time to tell your detectives to release some details.

I totally agree with you Scanner. My thoughts are they are keeping it quiet because they want the transition facility in Niles and this would be bad publicity especially if it’s someone from the homeless group that may be involved. I have also heard some want the Florence closed. They may use this as a means to do so. Claiming the Florence could hinder those that are trying to clean up there lives. The Florence was there first so if that’s a problem then build the transition facility in an industrial area where there aren’t any bars or liquor stores. That’s my two cents.
