Fremont Assists Hayward Once Again

Fremont officers were dispatched into Hayward last night, at least the second time this weekend.  Hayward officers had stopped a stolen vehicle occupied by 3 people.  The suspect vehicle attempted to hit the police vehicle or officer before the occupants fled.  One was detained, but two escaped.  HPD requested the Fremont drone.  Two patrol officers, one of which was a K-9 unit, plus a sergeant responded to the Whitman St. location.
On the one hand it seems unfair to be sending our assets into another city, especially one that does not border Fremont.  However, on the other hand, the people HPD has stopped or are looking for, may possibly be responsible for crimes here in Fremont, or will be committing crimes here in the future.  So, perhaps any effort to suppress regional crime is a good thing.

  1. Maybe Fremont can create a substation there...near a donut shop of course.
