Scary Home Invasion Last Night

A rare home invasion occurred last night in the neighborhood at the east end of Thornton Avenue near Paseo Padre.  A couple were home alone in their upstairs bedroom when an intruder slammed open their bedroom door.  The intruder, apparently startled to find someone home, quickly exited the house.  The occupants immediately called 9-1-1.  Numerous officers responded code 3 (lights and sirens).  The first officer arrived two minutes after being dispatched.  With the use of the canine, officers cleared the house quickly, finding no suspects.  However they did find evidence of forced entry on the side of the home.  From radio traffic it appears no one was injured.
