Officers are at a home where a suspect in an assault with a deadly weapon charge is inside. Family members have been evacuated from the house. The male inside has reportedly thrown knives at a female in the house, but missed. He reportedly has a mental illness and in the past has been tased by police officers. The location is off of Mission View. Fire department paramedics are staging in case needed. Officers are unable to contact the suspect via phone and are now making public address announcements.
Update at 8:00 They believe the suspect is still in his room. Officers are in the house and conducting a "protective sweep" of the other rooms of the house, then they will again attempt contact with the suspect in his room.
Update at 8:15. Officers broke into his room and the suspect was laying in his bed. They were able to take him into custody without incident.
