Man With Rifle Call on Beacon

A man pushing a shopping cart and holding a rifle pointed into the air is being held at gun point by officers on Beacon near Liberty Street.  A person called 9-1-1 to report a man in the parking lot on Liberty with a rifle.  A sergeant arrived quickly and located the man.  After the man was instructed to lay down officers approached with shields deployed.  A quick "981" indicating the situation was under control and scene secured was put out.  While several citizens pointed out the man to arriving officers, it is unknown from radio traffic if a rifle was located on the man.
