Some type of rescue is going on behind the old Mowry Lanes near Mowry and Cherry. There is some talk about the railroad and water draining into various ponds. FFD has quite a bit of equipment dedicated to this event which started about 6:18 pm. More info as I gather it.
Playing back the audio files this is a technical rescue of a person or persons in a confined space. The call originally came out as an outdoor fire. Apparently while working this fire they found some evidence of a confined space that may be occupied.
Update: While putting out this fire in a 4X4 culvert that runs out towards the tracks, the crew, due to smoke, was unable to "clear" the area i.e. making sure nobody was in this culvert. Must have been some evidence of occupancy...perhaps this is/was an encampment.
It seems more and more encampments are becoming “known” because of such incidents.
