Having a police scanner in your car or listening to the online feed via your smartphone can be a great tool to law enforcement. If you see a suspect vehicle wanted in a serious crime, note your location and call 9-1-1. I firmly believe that giving citizens access to police broadcasts is a huge benefit to the community and law enforcement.

Broadcasting Fremont Police dispatch channel "A"
aka "Main" channel. On occasion Fremont Fire tactical channels will be
broadcast during working fires or other major events . You may also
hear Union City PD, Hayward PD or Newark PD during major events or
just on a random basis. Fremont Police does dispatch for UCPD from 11
p.m. until 9 a.m. the next morning on the FPD dispatch channel. UCPD
patrol unit numbers start with a 4,5 or 6. Scanner is a Bearcat 996XT
and sent out to the internet via an HP Thin Client, all of which are
located in Fremont CA.
