100 MPH Pursuit Up Fremont Blvd !!
This is beginning to be a daily occurrence. One of the license plate readers (LPR hit) picks up a felony vehicle, a broadcast is made to the officers in the field, it is spotted and a pursuit entails. Around 11:42 last night there was an LPR hit on a 96 Honda Accord going north on Fremont Blvd at Mowry. A patrol officer picked it up on Fremont at Central by Holy Spirit Church. The vehicle took off, continuing north on Fremont at speeds of up to 100 mph. The officer lost the vehicle as it crested 880, but another officer found it unoccupied on Alvarado near Lake Arrowhead. A perimeter was set up, with UCPD assisting as well as a drone and dog unit. But by 12:37 the suspect had not been located and officers resumed normal patrol.
