LAPD Writing up Scooters

Interesting story from the LA Times which could be applied to Fremont.  The scooters are coming, but bicycles are here now.  Here is the blurb from Fremont's web site:

Shared Active Transportation Program                                                   

Shared Active Transportation programs consist of bicycles, electric bicycles, and motorized scooters that are deployed in the public right-of-way for use by members, customers, or the general public. Shared Active Transportation programs provide a convenient, sustainable, and congestion-reducing option for short-trips and accessing transit.
The City is partnering with Hopr, to bring a shared active transportation program to Fremont for a one-year pilot program. The pilot will initially consist of 250 “dockless” bikes and may be expanded to include additional bikes or scooters. The pilot program will begin in late August 2019.
