As Officers Struggle With Man, Help is Stuck In Friday Traffic
Two officers, 1K2 and 1O8, were fighting a man in the Niles area and it took over six minutes for back up officers to arrive. "Hey Jen, we got a lot of traffic coming up Mission, but you've got units coming to you", said a responding officer. The two officers in the struggle managed to get cuffs on the male subject, but he continued to fight. Eventually he was put in a WRAP restraining device after assisting officers arrived. The initial call was a family disturbance- the dreaded 415 family call. A man with mental health issues was assaulting his mother. The condition of the mother, suspect and officers is unknown, but an ambulance was called.
