Fires in the Hayward Hills; Cal Fire Air Tankers Overhead

Several small fires have broken out in Garin/Dry Creek Regional Park around 5:30 this afternoon.  Several agencies are working the fire:  Alameda County, Fremont, Hayward and Cal Fire.  Access is difficult but the 4 wheel drive engines are making their way around the hills to the various locations.  Two S2T air tankers and the air attack OV10 were observed over the fire area.
Update:  Thanks Hot Rod for the info...suspect in custody and per radio reports he may be related to fires in U.C. and / or Fremont last night.
Update:  Just heard a Cal Fire Battalion Chief say that two were taken into custody, one by Regional Parks Police, the other by UCPD.  One suspect was observed jumping on a Cal Fire engine.  An arson investigator (or two) has been called out.  The crazies have invaded the open space now!

  1. A fire fighter saw a adult male suspect dressed in all black running and set another fire. They need to catch that MoFo!
