Fremont Officer Rear-Ended on 680

2X8, Officer J. Kennedy, apparently going home, was rear-ended just now on 680 at Vargas Road.  He has requested CHP to respond.   A Fremont PD sergeant is enroute.  Apparently the other party is complaining of pain, but does not need an ambulance.  A tow has been requested for the patrol vehicle.  The officer's canine is with him and a dog carrier is being fetched to transport the dog in another vehicle.
