SWAT Team Deployed Today

The call came in as a welfare check on a young man that did not show up for work.  He had been depressed and talked about owning a rifle.  There was a vague address for him in south Fremont, but later it was learned that he slept in his car.  Detectives were able to track his phone to his area of work across the bay.  His boss had set him up with a hotel room in an adjacent city.  First they said he wasn't going to harm himself and that he just wanted to drive around and think a bit.  Later it was determined that he was an angry ex-military man who would shoot it out.  That led to the SWAT team being deployed at the command post, which was the fire station on Grimmer.  There were numerous patrol officers and detectives working the case.  As of an hour ago it was believed he was still across the bay and Fremont was releasing all but a handful of officers from the search for the man.

  2. Well, you didn't miss anything because I shut down the scanner just in case the subject might have been listening in.
