Thursday's Shooter Had Prior BART Arrest

According to a recent FPD news release, the man that shot at a passing Fremont patrol vehicle was Michael Felch, 30 years of age.  According to internet sources, a Fremont resident of that name and age was arrested by BART Police on Nov 7, 2018 at 4:10 a.m.  He was booked at Santa Rita on a variety of charges:  69 PC (resisting an officer- felony), 148a Pc (resisting arrest), 243b PC (battery on a peace officer), 594 PC (vandalism).  He was a fighter and probably had much hatred for law enforcement.  Since the shooting took place near BART,  did he think he was shooting at a BART vehicle?  Was this suicide by cop?  Perhaps these questions will be answered at the Thursday news conference.
Upon further internet research, I have found a Michael Felch of Fremont who was a graphic designer at Junior's Design Co with a specialty in graffiti.  The 594PC charge from November may have stemmed from spray painting at the Fremont BART Station.  Interesting that there were no drug or alcohol related charges indicating that he was sober.  And, apparently angry.

  1. Michael was very sick, he had suffered mental health issues since his early 20's. His delusions often involved police or authority.
