Officer James Taylor Involved In His Second Kill
According to a news release from FPD today, one of the officers involved in the Thursday shooting on Civic Center was Officer James Taylor. You may recall that on Feb 5, 2017 Officer Taylor shot and killed a man on Mowry. In this earlier case, Officer Taylor's canine attacked him instead of the suspect as they struggled along a frontage road. The dog biting the officer put him at a disadvantage and he then used his gun to shoot the man he was struggling with. A civil lawsuit again the City has been filed for wrongful death. In the most recent case, he seemed to be the second or third officer on scene and shot the suspect as the suspect was crawling towards his firearm, which he reportedly picked up and pointed at the officers.
