Kicking The Transient Down The Street
Often it seems that problem transients are told to "move along" after a complaint is received of their public behavior only to be causing a problem somewhere else. An illustration of this occurred today on Civic Center. Earlier this morning security at Kaiser Hospital told a middle aged transient woman to leave their property after observing her antisocial behavior. A few minutes later Starbucks across the street called complaining of the same woman. I'm assuming she was gone upon police arrival or told to "move along". Now, some four or five hours later, a woman matching that description is back on Kaiser property. Not only is she yelling at no one in particular, but her clothes are tossed about and she is exposing herself. Again, there must be some facility other than jail that can house these people and keep them safe and off the streets.

Oh man. Very sad, true. The city needs to use one of the empty warehouses to provide shelter and a place to stay, with rules and guidelines. They need to stop building multi-use developments.
