Tense Family Feud Last Night

Imagine if you will...you are working midnight patrol on a rainy Tuesday evening...the 415 family call is assigned to you.  Middle aged boyfriend and girlfriend fighting...she is bleeding from the head.  He has been drinking and she is an alcoholic, but seems lucid tonight.  You and your partner, in separate cars are on the way.   Then info comes over the radio that the boyfriend has a gun in the bedroom.  Another patrol car heads over there knowing this could go sideways quickly.  Then the boyfriend threatens to kill her.  He says he will leave if she calls the PD.  Now the sergeant is on the way, plus the fire department is being staged, just in case.  You and your partner arrive at the front door, the other officer covers the rear.  First the woman  comes to the door.  Then the man.  Quickly a code 4 is put out- no further assistance needed.  The girlfriend declines any medical aid insisting its a family disturbance only.  In the end this sounded like a garden variety family disturbance call, but there was potential for much more when you mix alcohol, a gun and heated tempers.  Hopefully the couple involved will get some help.  For the officers, its on to the next call...
