Here we are some 15 hours after last nights 24 minute pursuit that reached speeds of 100 mph and no word from Fremont Police. Data from this blog and the online scanner reveal a high interest in this event. It seemed that half of Fremont's patrol officers were working the search for the suspects within the city limits of Hayward for several hours. Perhaps because no one was shot or killed or perhaps because no suspects were apprehended, the public affairs people thought it not necessary to send out a news release. While Chief Petersen talks of transparency, the department seems very hesitant to comment on high profile events.
There was a pursuit early Saturday morning in the San Leandro area. Two people were arrested and the Alameda County Sheriff was able to crank out a news release.

Your thoughts are mine. So much for transparency.
