According to a news story in the EBT, the only felony the alleged drunk driver was arrested on was felony hit and run and felony drunk driving. And his bail was set at just $95,000. The driver had his license suspended, and if this was for a prior drunk driving conviction, then I believe he can be charged with murder (187 PC) in this case. He is due to be arraigned tomorrow in Fremont court. Hopefully the district attorney, after reviewing evidence provided by FPD will up the charges to some serious felonies. Here is the story:

ReplyDeleteI wrote to the chief and DA's office and said this has to change and I noticed in the police blotter that they said they would discuss with the DA additional charges. Sounds like they have plenty of evidence.
